An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, vibrant Clinical Engineering team at the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Derbyshire.  We have one AFC Band 6 Specialist Clinical Engineering post available.

The Clinical Engineering section is part of the Integrated Care Division and provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service; carrying out all aspects of medical device management from acquisition to disposal at end of life.

We are inviting applicants from keen individuals set on developing their career in Clinical Engineering.

The post holder’s role comprises of routine maintenance of medical devices, calibration and repairs; you will also be expected to support the maintenance and service of other medical equipment within the Trust.

The post holder will also participate in the on-call rota as required.  Opportunities will exist for specialisation in areas such as video stack systems, medical gases etc.

You would need to be enthusiastic, motivated and capable of working within a multi-disciplinary team.  You should also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and be fully able to work with IT systems.  Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative is also essential.  You will be required to undertake other relevant duties such as contributing towards maintaining standards for service and maintenance; attend any relevant courses.

Academic qualification of degree standard or equivalent in Engineering or Science discipline is required.

This is a full-time post 37.5 hours a week – there will be occasions for the need to work at other locations from the main site and for flexible working.
