A vacancy has arisen for a 1.0 WTE permanent Specialist Biomedical Scientist to work within the Histology Laboratory of the Pathology Department Monday to Friday.

You will be educated to BSc standard and hold a Specialist Diploma or equivalent. You will develop and maintain a full Histology specialist expertise to enable the delivery of a high quality service provision and achieve and maintain specialist competences for Histology.

You will be expected to assist with transformation and IT projects to develop the service level provision of the department as appropriate.

Good communication skills and technical ability are essential requirements for this post, together with the ability to work as part of a team.

No formal transformational or IT qualifications are required, but previous experience and working knowledge in a laboratory environment would be an advantage.

Core working times are between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, but applicants must be flexible in their approach to the job as there may be a need for out of hours and/or occasional weekend working.
