Do you have a passion for stroke medicine, and want to develop your skills in this area?
Are you an experienced nurse looking for a change in career direction, newly qualified or about to qualify?

Chesterfield Royal Hospital are seeking to recruit caring, motivated and hardworking first level registered nurses to join the friendly and progressive multidisciplinary team in our Stroke Service.

The Stroke Service provides a comprehensive pathway of care & treatment to adult stroke patients from across the East Midlands. Patients flow from hyper-acute admission through to acute care and onto community rehabilitation as required. Chesterfield Royal Hospital Stroke Services have opportunities for the right patient focused candidates. We welcome applications from newly qualified and nurses with no or limited stroke care experience. We aim to build on your core foundation nursing skills and support you beyond. We are looking for individuals to join us in providing specialised, holistic and personalised treatment for patients at all stages of their recovery.

With support from an experienced ward sister/charge nurse both day and night you will receive on-going support and opportunities to further your development and nursing skills, this includes consideration of rotation into the early supported discharge team that follows stroke patients up to 6 weeks post discharge

We promote an active learning environment with Nurses & Healthcare Assistants and encourage our team to extend their skills by developing specialty champions, sharing their knowledge and skills with colleagues to deliver a high standard of care to our patients.

You will work effectively as a member of the multi professional team and maintain effective, compassionate communication with patients, their relatives and staff of all levels.

We can offer you:
• Mentorship from our dynamic supportive team
• Preceptorship
• NG insertion and safe management
• Stroke specific teaching and courses
